Therapeutic Miniature Painting
Painting for Play, Creativity, and Calm
Our therapeutic miniature painting sessions combine the creativity of tabletop gaming with the mindful focus of painting.
Participants work on their own miniatures, or ours — whether fantasy adventurers, sci-fi heroes, or tabletop wargaming armies — in a calm, welcoming space.
More than a hobby, miniature painting offers a unique blend of benefits: it’s absorbing, tactile, and low-pressure, helping to lower social barriers and create a relaxed atmosphere for conversation.
What is Therapeutic Miniature Painting?
Miniature painting brings together art, focus, and play. In our sessions, participants select a model and work at their own pace, guided by gentle facilitation and optional painting tips.
The process is as important as the product.
Like mindfulness practices, painting can:
Quiet the mind through repetitive, rhythmic brushwork
Encourage “flow” states where time passes without stress or pressure
Create an easy backdrop for conversation — social interaction happens naturally when hands are busy and focus is shared
Offer a satisfying sense of progress as each colour and detail is added
We don’t judge the end result — we celebrate the creative process and the confidence that grows with every brushstroke.
